Our second day we sleep until 11 am Central European time. It's afternoon by the time we have made breakfast, figured out the nuances of showering in the old-fashioned tub, and make our way out of the apartment. We decide to take the day slowly and scope out the neighborhood. We find the local green grocer and additional grocery stores. We also spot nearby restaurants and sweet shops. For dinner we go to Zeller Bistro on a recommendation from Bence. It is located about 20 minutes away and is a nice walk in the cool start of the evening. We arrive at 6:30pm without a reservation and are lucky to get a table. The appetizer list includes "crispy small fish as my mom makes it". We can't resist. They are deep fried whole fishes, about small minnow size, and very tasty. My duck breast is very, very good and William enjoys his BBQ pork ribs with corn. We continue the trend on Friday, expanding the scope of our exploration around the Pest side. Via Google maps we locate a whisky shop about two kilometers distance and start off in that direction. We stop in a coffee shop along the way for an espresso, cappuccino and piece of opera cake. The criss-cross of streets takes us to the green facaded building. The shop and attached whisky bar have a huge selection - well over 100 whisky's from around the world. Our intent is to buy a bottle for the apartment and the man behind the counter talks with us about preferences and options. He walks us into the tasting area and provides half-pours of three different whisky's to help in the decision process. We opt for a bottle of 12 year old Kilkerran from Glengyle Distillery, make our purchase, and move over to the bar area to have a small pour of two other whisky's on the list.
